Agreement to terms
The website at homeenergyquotes.co.uk (“the Site”) is operated by Home Energy Quotes Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17436245, whose registered office is at 20 Wenlock Road, London N1 7GU (“we”, “us”, “our”). By accessing and using the Site you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
What the Site is for
Home Energy Quotes provides free information — cost guides, grant eligibility guidance, comparisons and tools for UK homeowners considering home-energy improvements — and a free quote-request service: you can ask us to put you in touch with installers, or check whether your home may qualify for the Warm Homes: Local Grant. We do not install products ourselves, and we are not an installer, a lender or a government body.
Estimates, figures and claims
Every cost, saving and payback figure on the Site is a modelled estimate produced by the method described on our How We Calculate Costs page, labelled with the period it relates to. Figures are indicative, are not quotes, and are not financial advice or professional recommendations. Your own costs and savings will depend on your property, location, energy use, tariff, the installer you choose and other factors. Where we describe an upgrade’s effect on bills, comfort or emissions, we do so on the basis of published research and our own analysis, and we say so where the evidence is limited.
Grant eligibility criteria and amounts are set by the UK government and the devolved administrations and can change without notice. We check them regularly and state when each page was last reviewed, but you should confirm eligibility and amounts on GOV.UK or the relevant scheme’s website before making decisions.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or accredited by any government body, certification scheme, regulator or manufacturer. References to schemes, grants, organisations and products are for information only and do not imply any partnership or endorsement.
Quote requests and grant eligibility checks
Both services are free to you, optional and entirely opt-in: nothing is submitted until you tick the consent box on the form. When you do, your details are passed to Lead Magnet Group Ltd (company number 17435391, registered office 20 Wenlock Road, London N1 7GU), a company under common ownership with Home Energy Quotes Ltd that handles enquiries, and from there to no more than three approved installers who cover your area and the upgrade you asked about. Installers pay Lead Magnet Group a fee to receive enquiries; you never pay us or Lead Magnet Group anything, and any quote you receive is the installer’s own.
You are under no obligation to accept a quote or to go ahead with any work. We cannot guarantee that an approved installer covers every postcode, that you will receive a particular number of quotes, or that you will qualify for any grant — eligibility is decided by the scheme, your local council and the installer, not by us. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, who receives it, how long it is kept and how to withdraw your consent.
Using the Site
You may use the Site for your own information and, for our published data, in accordance with the licence stated on the relevant page. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site or the systems it runs on, introduce malicious code, interfere with its availability, or use it in a way that breaks the law or infringes anyone’s rights. We may suspend or restrict access to protect the Site and its users.
Intellectual property
All content on the Site — text, images, data, tools and design — is owned by Home Energy Quotes Ltd or used under licence. You may not reproduce, distribute or commercially exploit it without written permission, except that our UK Home Energy Cost Index dataset is published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence and may be reused with attribution, as stated on that page.
Third-party websites
The Site links to other websites, including GOV.UK, energy suppliers and our own social-media profiles. We are not responsible for their content, availability or how they handle your data.
Limitation of liability
Home Energy Quotes acts as an introducer between homeowners and installers: any contract for installation work is between you and the installer directly. We are not a party to that contract and do not guarantee the quality, timeliness or outcome of any installation work, or the accuracy of any quote an installer gives you.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the information on the Site. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any of your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Complaints
If you are dissatisfied with the Site or anything we have done, email sales@homeenergyquotes.co.uk or call 0333 344 1115 with the details. We aim to acknowledge every complaint within two working days and to give a full response within fourteen working days. If you remain unsatisfied, the Citizens Advice consumer service (citizensadvice.org.uk, telephone 0808 223 1133) can advise on your options. Complaints about personal data can also go to the Information Commissioner’s Office, as explained in our Privacy Policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will give notice of material changes on the Site at least 30 days before they take effect, and continued use of the Site after that period constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute, without prejudice to your rights as a consumer to bring proceedings where you live.
