Heatable vs BOXT: Online Boiler Installers Compared (July 2026)

boilers-71

Quick answer: Heatable and BOXT both sell boilers online at a fixed, guaranteed price, and both held a 4.8/5 “Excellent” Trustpilot rating when we checked in July 2026. BOXT’s installed prices start from £1,790 and Heatable’s from £1,875 — but on a like-for-like boiler the cheaper option can flip depending on your postcode, so it is worth pricing both.

Heatable and BOXT are the two biggest names in the UK’s online boiler installation market. Instead of a salesperson visiting your home, you answer a short set of questions about your property and existing system, and the website returns a fixed price — often with next-working-day installation by a Gas Safe registered engineer. If you are new to boiler pricing altogether, our guide to new boiler costs in 2026 covers the whole market, not just the online players.

A note on independence: Home Energy Quotes has no commercial relationship with Heatable or BOXT. We have not tested either service first-hand — this comparison is based solely on each company’s published prices and warranty terms, plus Trustpilot data, all checked in July 2026.

How the two services work

Both companies use the same basic model. You enter your postcode, answer questions about your current boiler, flue position and property, and optionally upload photos. The site then shows fixed prices for a range of boilers, and the figure you see is the figure you pay — provided your answers were accurate. Neither firm sends a surveyor first, and both offer next-working-day installation in most areas, carried out by vetted local Gas Safe registered engineers.

Pricing compared

Published entry prices sit close together. BOXT advertises installation from £1,790, while Heatable’s cheapest listed package is the Ideal Logic combi at £1,875 installed (both checked July 2026). Mid-market, Heatable listed the Worcester Bosch Greenstar 4000 at £2,360 installed, and independent price tracking puts a mid-range Worcester Bosch combi at roughly £2,000–£2,600 on BOXT. In other words, BOXT’s headline entry price is lower on paper, but the like-for-like gap on a specific model and postcode is often small — and can favour either company.

Bear in mind that these are prices for a straightforward combi-for-combi swap. Converting from a system or regular boiler, moving the boiler, or rerouting a flue all add cost with any installer — our combi vs system vs regular boiler guide explains which type you have and why it matters.

Brands stocked and warranties

Heatable lists six brands: Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Viessmann, Ideal, Glow-worm and Alpha. Its longest published cover is up to 12 years on selected Viessmann models, with up to 10 years on most Worcester Bosch models, plus a 12-month workmanship warranty on the installation itself (checked July 2026).

BOXT stocks Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Ideal, Baxi and Navien. Its published manufacturer warranties run up to 10 years on Worcester Bosch and Navien models, 7 years on Ideal and Baxi, and 5 years on Vaillant (checked July 2026).

Two caveats apply to both firms. First, manufacturer warranties are only valid if the boiler is serviced every year. Second, warranty lengths change with promotions and by specific model, so confirm the exact figure at checkout rather than relying on headline claims. For how the manufacturers themselves stack up, see our best boiler brands in 2026 comparison.

Reviews and reputation

When we checked in July 2026, Heatable scored 4.8/5 on Trustpilot from around 14,000 reviews, and BOXT scored 4.8/5 from around 56,000 reviews on its Trustpilot page. BOXT’s review volume is roughly four times larger, which reflects its bigger scale rather than better service — both counts are easily large enough to be meaningful. Heatable is also listed as a Which? Trusted Trader. Scores move constantly, so check the live pages before you buy.

Which service suits which job?

  • Straightforward combi swap: either — running both quote tools takes about ten minutes and gives you a real like-for-like price for your postcode.
  • Speed: both advertise next-working-day installation; actual availability depends on engineer cover in your area.
  • Brand preference: Heatable stocks Viessmann, Glow-worm and Alpha; BOXT stocks Baxi and Navien — so the brand you want may decide it for you.
  • Complex jobs (fuel conversions, boiler relocations, system redesigns): fixed-price web forms suit these least; an in-person survey may price them more accurately.

FAQs

Are Heatable and BOXT quotes really fixed?

Yes — both companies guarantee the online price provided the information you gave was accurate. If your system turns out to be different from what you described (for example, a hidden flue arrangement), the price can be revised or the job rebooked, so answer the questionnaires carefully.

Who actually installs the boiler?

Both firms use networks of vetted, local Gas Safe registered engineers rather than directly employed national teams in every area. The engineer fitting your boiler may well be the same local professional you could hire directly.

Is Heatable or BOXT cheaper?

Neither is consistently cheaper. BOXT’s entry price was lower when we checked in July 2026 (£1,790 vs £1,875), but on a specific boiler model and postcode the cheaper option can flip. The only reliable answer is to run both quote tools for your own home.
