Damp and mould letter to your landlord
Answer a few questions and we will write a clear, polite letter or email reporting damp and mould in your home. Copy it into an email or print it and send it to your landlord.
Nothing you type leaves your device. The letter is written in your browser. Nothing is sent to us, saved or tracked, and it is cleared when you leave or refresh the page.
Your letter
The rules on repair timescales are different in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, so this letter does not quote any. Check the rules for your nation before you send it.
Start filling in the form and your letter will appear here.
What happens next
- Send it the official way. Use your landlord’s usual contact route: their repairs email, online form or postal address.
- Keep a record. Save a copy and note the date you sent it, how you sent it and who to.
- If nothing happens. Council and housing association tenants in England can use their landlord’s complaints process, then go to the Housing Ombudsman, a free, independent service. Private renters in England can contact the environmental health team at their local council. In Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, check the rules for your nation.
